BORN FREE

Volunteers For Future and the Born Free Foundation have worked together since 2020 to empower and inspire thousands of young people across the UK whilst providing schools with high quality, accessible conservation and animal welfare education. We aim to raise awareness of environmental issues and the threats facing wildlife, whilst supporting young people to identify positive actions they can take in support of wildlife conservation.

To date we’ve reached over 4000 young people in schools across England and Wales.

“Born Free has been working with Volunteers for Future since 2020. In that time, they have enabled us to increase our reach with schools by an amazing 300%.

This enables more young people to engage with our message and understand their role in protecting rainforests and the individual animals that make up an essential component of this vital ecosystem, as well as safeguarding the welfare of individual animals. They have been professional at all times, including regular updates, planning meetings, collaborative volunteer training and impact reports.

We are grateful for the support and flexibility they have shown throughout our current and hopefully ongoing partnership”

About Born Free

Born Free’s mission is to ensure that all wild animals, whether living in captivity or in the wild, are treated with compassion and respect and are able to live their lives according to their needs. Born Free opposes the exploitation of wild animals in captivity and campaigns to Keep Wildlife in the Wild.

Born Free promotes Compassionate Conservation to enhance the survival of threatened species in the wild and protect natural habitats while respecting the needs of and safeguarding the welfare of individual animals. Born Free seeks to have a positive impact on animals in the wild and protect their ecosystems in perpetuity, for their own intrinsic value and for the critical roles they play within the natural world.
